Discount Calculator

Calculate the final price after discount, total savings, and discount percentage. Works with single and double discounts.

How it works

Sale Price = Original × (1 − discount/100). Savings = Original − Sale Price.

Worked example

An $80 item at 25% off: $80 × 0.75 = $60 sale price, saving $20.

Frequently asked questions

How do stacked discounts work?

Apply sequentially, not additively. 20% off then 10% off = 28% total (0.8 × 0.9 = 0.72), not 30%.

Discount vs markdown?

Both reduce price. 'Markdown' typically refers to permanent price cuts; 'discount' to temporary promotions.
